Leaking Grey Pipe Issue Under Sink

by perkysox » Sat Mar 30, 2019 11:36 am

Hi, Can anyone help as I have grey pipe under my kitchen sink that when I empty my kitchen sink water comes out of the grey pipe on the floor in pic. I presume this hose is to be connected somewhere but not sure where. It's always been lose on the floor so am rather confused. Any help much appreciated.

Hi, I can't see any pic so this is a guess. Is the pipe about 20mm diameter? It sounds like it may be an old washing machine/dishwasher waste pipe that's been left connected to the plumbing but disconnected from the appliance. In which case, just remove it from the sink plumbing. They are usually a push fit over a dedicated connector on the sink waste. Once removed, plug the connector. When new, they come with a plastic bung but I guess that's not to hand There shouldn't be any pressure on this connector so any means of blocking it will do but I would recommend getting the proper bung as soon as possible.
