Hello,
i'm about to take up the floor boards on my victorian suspended wooden floor. I believe i will require at least 150mm of breathable insulation to be installed to meet regulations, but fear the depth of my joists is less than 150mm. What would the best practice method be to add 150mm of wool insulation? Would it be to add timber below the joists to extend their depth or something else?
I intend to hang the timber in a membrane that runs over the joists then down between them, creating a hammock for the insulation to sit in.
Thanks in advance.
