Hi,
Never had damp at the front of the house but from the image attached, the Green Line is the old ground level, Blue is the DPC and the red line is the footings.
The previous owner I believe raised the ground level to un slope the front garden going above the DPC (they were old and keen gardners). I have since dug the ground out to gravel the front garden for extra parking.
My query is the best way to stop water getting to the wall as much as possible, I have some stone wall topper's spare from a job and was thinking of placing them at an angle to steer as much water away from the wall and then gravel on top with the rest of the new driveway obviously keeping a good distance below the DPC. 100-150mm is the recommended height yes?
The front of the house is north facing so it never gets sunlight and is pretty well sheltered too.
Thanks!
