Hi. (Image attached) I'm looking to reconfigure my fireplace and dislike the lintel. Whilst "exploring" with my chisel I found that it's not bearing any weight (certainly not the three bricks exposed on top of it). I then hacked up the wall to see if there was another lintel but there isn't. I've stopped exploring for now and wondered if anyone could suggest what's going on? Has it been bodged in the past or am I missing something? Thanks Don
