How to Insulate at Eaves on Roof With Bob Tail Truss

by djheatley » Tue Sep 03, 2019 4:38 pm

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a newly built home which I was hoping someone could offer some advice on. We used bob tail (heel) trusses as you can see on the attached image. I have shown the way the house has been built at the eaves. There is a 100mm xtratherm upstand with the width of the 'heel' member of the truss. The cavity has 150mm beads with rockwool closer in location shown. My question is: would the empty cavity above the rockwool closer and adjacent to the xtratherm upstand cause any problems with regards to condensation? Xtratherm are telling me that since the eaves and ridge are ventilated there would be no issue with condensation but would like a second opinion. Many thanks.
