Hi,

Had a problem with the chimney breast for around 4 years now.

2 years ago, the chimney got blocked off and the roof re-tiled. However we are still having problems with the chimney breast getting damp every now again especially when we bath or shower.

Had various people come out and nothing has been identified as a problem.

Does anyone know what it could be and how we can resolve it?

Ordered a dehumidifier to see if this will help. I'm just conscious this will only help the dampness but not resolve the root cause

That looks quite bad. If it gets worse when you use water then there must be a leak somewhere. The roof may also be leaking where the chimney was blocked off. Can you access the space from above to look to see if there are water pipes anywhere or any puddles of water forming?
