3 Radiators are Slowly Leaking

by thetonyshort » Sat Sep 14, 2019 10:11 am

Hi, we have three radiators in the house that is slowly leaking, what looks like a brown / oil leak. It's coming from one of the valves. My question is whether this is an issue with the actual radiator or the valve itself? Or even both? I've taken a photo so you can see what it looks like.

Thanks in advanced.

Tony

First I am an electrician not a plumber, and second can't really see the leak, however a few pointers, one if water is brown or black likely there is no inhibitor in the system.

Second you can nip up the stuffing gland on the lock shield valve. It seems early lock shield valves were not able to take the pressure in a sealed system, but I would not know which are which.
