Mounting a 9kg Projector Screen

by Thered » Thu Oct 03, 2019 6:58 pm

I have tried and failed to mount a projector screen and really need some help now.

I initially fixed the mounts directly to the wall, into masonry on the left but sadly there was only void on the right and I couldn't get a fix. I used 80mmx5mm multi-material screws and red rawl plugs.
I then decided I would batten with Dogs Bolx adhesive and tried 100mmx5mm multi-material screws into the same plugs but then couldn't get a fix on either side.
Can somebody advise what the best way to get this up is.

I now have existing holes and am thinking that I can use them for the screen mount screws as the screws are longer than the batten anyway. For fixing the batten I am thinking of drilling 2 new holes on the left, 2 new holes in the middle, both into masonry and using 80mmx5mm multi-material screws and red Rawl plugs but what do I do about the right where I can't get a fix? The masonry appears to 100mm into the wall meaning there is 75mm of void and then 15mm of soft wood that the 10mm of plaster is mounted to.

Please help!!!
