Hole for Light Switch Socket Screw Broken

by Nod25 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 2:43 pm

One of the two brackets that the screws screw into to secure the light switch has came away. I’ve tried fixing it back in with super glue and a bit of plaster but it keeps coming away. I would take out the metal wiring box and put in a new one but the walls have been plastered and it’s not possible to remove it as the plaster covers a lot of it. Very frustrating as aside from simply glueing the socket to the wall I can’t think of a simple fix.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

The hole is 3.5 mm but I have simply turned to wood screws when happened to me, screwed a small lump of wood into back of box and then wood screw into that.
