Additional light and 2 gang socket in Garage

by Archno1 » Thu Sep 06, 2007 6:06 pm

Hi,

I would like some advice please, on wiring up the above. I currently have a single swich serving a single rose in my double length garage. I am replacing this light with a strip light and connecting it to a 2 gang switch at the other end of the garage.

This light will then be operated by 2 switches. The other connection in the 2 gang switch will serve an additional strip light. This light will only be operated by this one switch.

I have purchased the required parts, including 4 core wire, which I believe is what I need. I have also bought 2 junction boxes.

Please could somebody explain the wiring set up to me in laymans terms. I am reasonably sure of what to do , but need some assurances!!

Thanks

You have the idea already, just run the 3core & E from your existing switch to the other, shouldn't need JB's, wire this cable the same at each end, and your existing cable to the L1 and L2.
