by gam » Thu Sep 06, 2007 9:54 pm

I have just started plastering and i have just skimmed out 5 ceilings ( 15 sq met each ) they were all covered in artex, i PVA'd 1 to 1 and worked hard,

Issue,

On some parts of the ceiling there are some rough patches and some small holes, the walls looked perfect when i dry trowled them ,

Please any ideas advice would be a great help

rough and holes

by pawlo » Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:00 pm

HI

Well i'm no expert but know ceilings are hard work

I take it the ceiling looked fine once you finished.
And then later the rough and holes appeared.

From what i've been told the rough parts can be from over working the plaster. Also the holes can be from air bubbles in the plaster again caused from over working.

Hope this helps
As i say i'm no expert.

this is all to do with troweling the plaster the rough bits are most likely from what we call misses whey the trowel has missed the plaster because of the unevenis of the ceiling as the plaster starts to go off splash water over and just keep on troweling it up clean water and clean tools
