Sealing/Protecting Painted Exposed Straight Edges on Stairs

by evansgaz » Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:29 am

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help?

I've painted edges onto stairs (using V33 floor and stair paint), it's come out really neat using frog tape. However I'm worried that the straight edges may start to flake or chip. Is there anything that I could put on the edges (maybe some sort of sealant or lacquer?) that would keep them looking nice and straight for years to come? I'd rather not varnish the whole stairs as the steps have been treated with Osmo polyx and the wood looks nice (and matches floors) so I was thinking maybe just the painted edges.

Any decorator wisdom would be appreciated?

Thanks
