Advice Required for Fitting Wooden Double Gates Information, help and advice on many architecture, self build and design problems and issues

I am fitting double wooden gates 6ft each gate in height and length. I have a brick pillar either side, if I am attaching my pillars to the brick pillars do I have to concrete them 3ft down the ground as well? Thanks
