Wiring 2 Gang 2 way Smart Switch no Neutral

by matpol » Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:23 pm

Hi

I bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/BSEED-Touch-Switch-Sensitive-Switches/dp/B075YPV6BG?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

Probably should have checked some things before I bought but I have
it now.

This is the existing switch:

This diagram hopefully helps:

This the new switch:

Does any one have any ideas about wiring it? I was thinking that all L2 would go to L2 and L1 to L1 then the 2 COMs into the L - but then I don't know if the Two Way connector is required?

I am usually pretty good with this kind of thing but this is little more complicated.

Any help much appreciated!

Switches like this will often only work with another switch of the same brand for the 2 way option.
Using it as a 2 gang 1 way will not be a problem.
What does the MI say in respect of the 2 way option?

2 way meaning you can switch a light on in one place and off from another.
MI is manufacturers instructions

Thats a good point. The instructions do say it needs to sync with another 2 way switch - I had been thinking this might be the case too - although it does not make this clear in the product details on amazon.

I am really not sure, the existing switch has the two switches completely independent but new one uses the same line for both switches, it may be possible to use same line, but it could also cause a borrowed neutral by linking them, if the second switch of the two way is on a different floor then likely it will not work safely.

So big question do both switches stop working when a single breaker or fuse is turned off or removed, or are they controlled with different fuse/mcb
