Waste Pipe Plumbing for Dishwasher

by jimbob445 » Sun Feb 09, 2020 5:03 pm

Hi Guys,

I plan to install a dishwasher in my kitchen and need some advice regarding waste drain plumbing.

There is currently a waste pipe underneath the kitchen sink which is plumbed into the wall around 50cm above the floorboards (with a slight negative gradient in the pipe running all the way to the main outer wall).

Unfortunately there is no space to install the dishwasher next to the sink and therefore I will need to extend the waste pipe. Where I plan to put the dishwasher (see image below) it will mean extending the waste pipe underneath the floorboards. My plan is to attach a waste pipe at the back of the dishwasher, have this run under the floorboard for about 2 metres before running back up the 50cms to attach to the kitchen drain pipe. The issue is the journey back up to the kitchen drain - is this even possible? are the pumps in dishwashers powerful enough to push the waste up or does it need gravity?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

James
