Putting Down new Floorboards for LVT

by carbar » Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:25 am

Hello.

I am intending to put LVT in my bathroom. The existing floorboards are very uneven, so I am intending to remove all the floorboards and put down a new floor, probably a single sheet of chipboard.

If I do this, will I still need to put plyboard on top of the new floor before laying the LVT? If I do, should the plyboard be screwed down or just laid on top?

Thanks,

Carl

Yes, you will need to install 6mm Flooring Grade Ply, leave gaps between adjoining boards of 1-2mm, th Micro-Coat or Feather edge screed the joints and Glue the LVT to this finished surface.
