Laying Dryback LVT on Kitchen Floor Help, advice, information, answers and tips on all types of flooring from laminate and carpet to timber and vinyl

I have a kitchen floor covered in a wood-effect laminate. It is smooth and level with both insulation boards and underlay beneath it, but I want to lay dryback LVT tiles on top to create an impervious layer which will be better water-resistant.
Should I "prime" the laminate in some way first? What is the best type of adhesive to use for this job - is standard acrylic LVT adhesive OK? I an conscious that the laminate will not provide a porous surface to work with.

Any advice/ideas on this would be very welcome.

Uplift and dispose of the Laminate first, it's a floating installed floor and thus you should not lay other floorcoverings over the top as it's an unstable surface.

Thanks, Crazydaze, and I accept that this is the "received wisdom" - lift the old floor first.
However, I took the decision not to do this as the floor on which the laminate was laid had insulation boards beneath it, (as well as laminate underlay).

The job has been very successful. I used Bostik vinyl adhesive which has provided an excellent bond onto the laminate with no problems. One piece of advice: avoid walking on it for at least 6-12 hrs.
