A stuck value on a mixer tap

by kevin.cunnington » Wed Sep 05, 2007 1:34 pm

Hi

I have a mixer tap operated by two separate rotational taps. One (but only one) of the taps/ valves is stuck so that no water from this (the hot side) comes out of the mixer spout.

I've removed the top of the hot water tap and unscrewed the valve. It is fully unscrewed but seems to be retained by something that i cant see. This problems also exists with the cold tap valve. Perhaps I'm just not being hard enough it putting the valve out?

I was hoping that i could simply remove the valve and replace it (rather than replace the entire mixer tap).

Any ideas?

I just need to be tougher. The value was secure by a rubber sealant ring. The mixer taps came from France and the sealant ring is different from the UK model. I replaced the valve and it now works perfectly.
