Advice With Painting Flaking Wall

by JoshW » Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:48 pm

Hi all,

It's my first post and I'm a relatively novice decorator who's just purchased my first home. I'm looking to paint an already painted room but I've had to remove bordering paper which has annoyingly taken some of the paint behind it from the walls.

What's my best course of action to take so it will be ready for the paint? Will I need to strip the wall down to bare plaster or would sanding it with an orbital sander to feather the edges, then prime with watered emulsion or a more specialist product like Zinsser suffice?

I have attached a link to photos so you can see what I'm dealing with.

Many Thanks,
Josh

Hi,
Fill with polyfilla or tetrion (not premixed stuff), when dry sand down and apply watered down emulsion to the repaired areas ......
