Bathroom Ceiling Light Does not Have Enough Connectors

by m3stu » Wed Apr 01, 2020 3:24 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to change a light in the bathroom. The old light had 8 terminals (neutral, live and switch), the new one has a block of only 6. There are 3 cables coming into the light, from the previous light, to the next light and from the switch. I am currently doing my Level 2 and managed to get it to work but the fuse blew when I switched the light off. I am unable to speak to my tutor because of the lockdown and would appreciate any help. I have attached a picture.

Typical neutral and switched line getting mixed up.

With lights forget colours, black and blue are often switched line not neutral, if connected to neutral then short circuit, but only when light switched on.
