Advice for Filling Wooden Floor Before Vinyl Tiles

by DIYAMATEUR16 » Sun Apr 05, 2020 8:48 pm

I've finally finished taking up some horrendously bright green vinyl tiles which were in the bathroom before my wife and I moved in.

I've scraped off the left over glue/adhesive but some was stuck down so much that it has caused small sections of the wood below to splinter/come away (please see picture). I'm aware this is a problem as I want to put new vinyl tiles down and don't want to see any imperfections.

Please can someone advise how to fill these gaps?!

I initially thought to use a wood filler but I read something about this possibly cracking underneath the tile over time which has concerned me.

Any advise or recommendations of products would be extremely appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi diyamateur16,
If the floor is otherwise even fill the hollows with 2-part filler and sand flat once cured.
