Wire confusion colours with new bathroom extractor fan

by Lscott2209 » Wed Apr 08, 2020 1:01 pm

Greetings All,

I decided to fit a new bathroom extractor fan with a timer, but not entirely of the complete wiring system. The fan fitted before had a timer too.

As far as I’m aware, the coloured wires (see photo attached) are as follows;
- Red single = permanent live
- Red and yellow = switch live
- Black = Neutral.
- Blue = also Neutral.

I’m pretty sure, but I believe the wires go into the following sections in the photo provided: Red alone goes into L, red and yellow wrapped around each other go into Ls and Black and Blue both go into N?

Thanks in advance.
