Wiring a new light to 3 core plus earth

by Bathman » Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:48 pm

Hi, I want to install a new LED spot that just has connection for brown, blue and earth. The wiring emerging from the ceiling is 3 core plus earth. The wires are identified as grey (blue sleeve), black (brown sleeve) and brown (no sleeve).

What goes where, as the new light fitting only has space for two connections plus earth. Thank in advance

Hi Bateman,
Try connecting wire with blue sleeve to light fitting blue and the one wi,th brown sleeve to light fitting brown.
Ignore the brown wire.
Regards S.
