Plumbing washing machine and Fridge freezer to same tap

by Andyp1978 » Sat Apr 18, 2020 2:25 pm

Moving into new house. Bought new fridge with water supply. 1 cold water tap under the sink as normal. Can I, with the correct fittings, connect both the washing machine & the fridge water supply to this tap? Will there be any issue with drinking water sharing the same tap as the washing machine? I believe it would be fine but the Mrs is freaking out??

Hi andyp1978,
No reason why you should not do as you suggest apart from the issue of isolating two appliances with one valve.
Probably easier to replace the valve with a T and have two separate isolating valves (one reused and one new).
