Advice on What to use for Re-Pointing a Stone House

by walshy71 » Fri Apr 24, 2020 4:19 pm

Hi
I have a stone house that I think needs repointing but Im not sure what I need to use in order to do this, The house has been built using what I think is a sandstone and the mortar lines currently in it seem to mostly be a greyish colour as if they have been done in sand and cement but reading online I am under the impression that a lime mortar should be used.
Please see attached pictures
Any advice greatly appreciated

Lime mortar would be better if the original, not a repoint point was lime.
