Paint peeling issue days after painting for bathroom refurb

by gdn » Sat May 02, 2020 1:52 pm

hi... I've recently had the bathroom renovated and they've skimmed the walls. I waited 3 weeks before painting, then did two mist coats and two normal coats. Within a couple of days I noticed the paint edge lifting at then wall edge that meets the door frame. A bit of gentle scraping and its peeled away easily - between 1 cm and 3 cm all the way down the edge of the door. Its peeled all the way back to plaster meaning the mist coat didn't take. The rest of the walls seem fine, its just this area. The mist coat was matt emulsion and the top coat soft sheen bathroom paint. Presumably I cannot now re-mist this bit with the matt but the soft sheen tin says it can be diluted down for fresh plaster. Or is there anything else i should put on it instead/as well (eg primer?) Just wondering the correct way to fix this? appreciate any advice.
