Help Finding my Internal Stopcock All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

Trying to find internal mains stopcock. Both downstairs bathroom and kitchen sink use mains supply. Stop cock not in kitchen or downstairs bathroom however. The pipes supplying both kitchen and downstairs go up to the ceiling so seems like the mains supply is coming from upstairs?? No stop cock by gas supply or in external cupboard. Is a terrace house, could the mains water supply be coming from neighbours house and the stop cock be upstairs somewhere? Very confused. Any help appreciated

Suggest you turn on a tap just enough to make a noise in the pipe, then go round the house with a stick, holding it to your ear and touching exposed surfaces to try and determine the pipe route.
Depending on how old the terrace is, it could be that the your stopcock is outside, or even worse the whole terrace is one stopcock.

Thanks for the help found it :D Was downstairs in the kitchen in the end was the the pipe facing upwards that threw me off. Thank you
