Electric wickes hydro shower 8.5 kw problems All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

I bought a wickes hydro electric shower 8.5 kw to replace same older one 7.5kw. When fitted by plumber I was told to turn it on the next day after sealant dried. Did so and there was a loud bang also it had leaked into ceiling below. Plumber came back and 'fixed' it - but when turned on water is lukewarm, too cold to shower. He also charges me extra for this. Is it because I changed shower wattage?

Sounds like you may have a faulty shower. Unfortunately the split of responsibilities of purchase and fitting makes remedial action difficult. You could try returning the unit and see if they will replace it.
Your installer should have checked that your electrical supply system is adequate and they should have run the shower on the cold setting to fill the internal boiler.
