Shower water lukewarm but fine elsewhere

by rachelfryer » Fri Jul 17, 2020 3:06 pm

Our shower was installed in November and has been fine until last week. The water takes ages to get hot and only reaches lukewarm. But it's fine elsewhere in the house.

It's a mixer tap and the water heats from an air source heat pump. I suspect it's to do with the thermostat or mixer rather than the heat pump. Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

Hi rachelfryer
You need to check if you have full flow from the hot supply - turn your shower to fully hot. If you get a good flow then if it is a thermostatic shower then it's probably the thermostatic cartridge. If you get poor flow you need to check if there is a filter (which may be partly blocked) or a non return valve (which is sticking). I'm assuming you have checked all valves are on.
