Pump fed mixer tap not working properly

by MGEB » Wed Jul 22, 2020 8:15 am

Our mixer tap on the shower is not functioning properly and it is either freezing cold or too hot, I cannot get a good medium ( my husband can handle the temperature however my three little children and myself cannot ). The hot water feed is pump fed and the cold is not, it used to mix perfectly but over the past few weeks it’s not working as well. We now either I have a cold shower or one that is uncomfortably hot because the pump cuts out when I try and add more cold.
My husband is a bit stumped, and is thinking of adding thermostatic taps. I’m just mystified as three weeks ago it worked fine. Anyone have any wisdom? We installed the hot water pump ourselves about two years ago.

Hi mgeb
I assume you have mains cold and pump fed hot. The flow valve in the pump may be getting sticky so not opening properly. If this is the case a new valve or pump may be the solution.
