Help with leaking waste pipe after installing taps

by NurseAngela » Tue Aug 04, 2020 6:41 pm

Hi I have just installed new taps (which I’m so proud of) but there is a leak in the plastic pipes. Basically the pipe that leads outside to the drain is the issue. The white u bend pipe is just pushed into it. There is nothing to tighten like the other joints. It has an o ring but that’s all. What do I need to do/get to fix this please? I will attach pictures of the pipe and o ring.

Sorry I do not know all the correct terminology for the items this is the first time I’ve ever attempted something like this.

Hi nurseangela
You are missing the large plastic nut which should be on the trap where it fits onto the black plastic pipe. Undo the last bend and take it to one of the sheds and see if you can find a fitting with a nut that matches.
Failing this buy a new trap - preferably a height adjustable one - and replace the whole thing.
Regards S
