Is this wall that runs parallel with joists load bearing?

by Arf4n » Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:08 pm

So im trying to find out if this wall is load bearing, it is a full brick wall but it runs parallel to the the joist, infact under the beam is just the the plaster boad, which is dot and dab.

I've lifted the floor boards which shows the beam is around 10cm or 20cm away from the joist

Any ideas?

Hi arf4n
It is not possible to see the issue with the photos you have posted
If is not unusual for masonry walls to be built direct on floorboards and not directly above a joist.
The fact that it is masonry indicates that it is load bearing - tread carefully if you are going to mess with it!
