Hi may148706,
You need to use a screwdriver large enough to locate in both slots at the same time. If is will not shift you may have to use a punch for the initial release.

Thanks a lot ... I thought it needed a special tool!
I can't seem to find a screwdriver with a head larger than 12mm and a small size handle. Any suggestions where to look for these?

See if you can find a piece of flat steel the right width and use this with an adjustable spanner or grips.
