Size of pipes for plumbing Aqualisa shower

by Accountantbytrade » Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:28 am

Hi All,

Thank goodness its Friday!

FIrst time posting but long time user and great tips and help by everyone.

I have started to redo our family bathroom and am going to put in an aqualisa smart shower above our bath. I am looking to chase the pipes into the wall but I had a question on the size of pipes needed. Our bath has 22mm fat pipes which was what I was going to chase up the wall to the loft and the new aqualisa shower/bath filler. Does anyone know if they need to be 15mm pipes or can I use 22mm (I would prefer to use 15mm if possible). If I go from 22mmm to 15mm will it reduce the flow rate I have in the bath? Ultimately I am trying to work out how deep to chase the pipes in as I have not got a lot of room.

Thanks for your help.
David

Hi accountantbytrade
If you are on mains fed hot and cold 15mm will be OK if you are on gravity fed then you will probably need 22mm.

Thanks for the response. We are mains fed and the pressure is good so will stick with 15mm.

Cheers,
