Filling gap around replacement extractor fan

Just replaced bathroom extractor fan. Before i used to have 15 inch extractor fan and now have replaced with 10 inch fan. What would be the best way to fill gap any help would be welcome .

Not sure what gap you are describing but fire resistant foam is a good base even if it needs a plaster skim.
