Bathroom ceiling plaster very dusty

by marlowe426 » Mon Aug 31, 2020 10:54 am

My bathroom ceiling was plastered and painted a few years back.Unfortunately the builder did not seal the new plaster and only administered one coat of emulsion. The paint flaked off after a few months.Having not been remedied, the plaster is now very granular and dusty.Does this need re plastering ?

Hi marlow426
Replastering sounds an expensive option. Try cleaning off all loose material, apply a mist coat to stabilise the surface then paint as normal.
If this fails you can then go the skim coat option.
