Ideas for installing a shower over a bath Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Hello everyone

I'm looking at having a lodger in my house and would like to upgrade the family bathroom as it currently doesn't have a shower (I don't want them sharing my en-suite!).

Please find attached an image of the bath. I'm trying to do this on a budget and am pretty handy so will be doing the work myself. What would you recommend as the most cost effective way of installing a shower in this bath area?

Initially I had planned on completely ripping the whole room out and tiling it all + adding a wetroom, but unexpected events have halved my budget. I have about £3k for the project, with all work being done by myself.

Tile above the existing tiles and add an over bath screen and clip for shower head. Don't forget to supply a non-slip mat and possibly a grab rail.
