Hi All

We are currently having an extension built. The roof is going to be a flat roof with GRP covering, but there's some confusion about whether the structure of the roof is going to be a cold structure or a warm structure with regards to the insulation.

Can anyone shed some light on which is best with a GRP covering? Is one option more common than the other?

And, what are the pros and cons of a warm roof vs a cold roof in the context of GRP?

Suggest you look at grp roofs on this web site. Personally I would go for a cold roof construction.

For me, I would go with the warm roof. it has no thermal bridging. It's breathable so there is no moisture build up which could lead to mould. They are simply insulated more efficiently than cold roofs because of the way they are formed. they are also cheaper to install.
