Pipework Feed Run From Old Cold Storage Tank

by JeffGreenbank » Tue Sep 22, 2020 7:41 pm

I have an old house with a 15mm mains stop tap. I have a run from that that used to feed to a cold tank but since has had a Combi Boiler fitted. See Diagram, Toilet in bathroom GF flushed system goes down. Thinking of re routing pipe. Any thoughts guys.

Hi jeffgreenbank
You say in your post that you have a 15mm stopcock, presumably this has 15mm mains in and through to the kitchen. This will be woefully inadequate for feeding all the fittings you have and you will experience serious pressure fluctuations. Suggest you get a new 25mm main run in and to the kitchen, split there and backfeed to other fittings. If I recall correctly the water board regs require your kitchen tap to be the first outlet on your mains so the new main would comply.
Regards S
