Divert shower feed for ensuite from combi boiler

by just-surfing » Thu Oct 01, 2020 2:04 pm

I have 3 showers at home.
2 are fed from a DHW tank and both have thermostatic mixer shower valves.
1 is fed direct from a combi.
How can I temporarily supply my ensuite shower direct from the combi and then put it back to the tank as it is now. I don't want to leave it on the combi permanently just whenever it suits me to.

Hi just_surfing
Your combi fed shower will have mains cold and mains fed hot. If you want to make one of your showers dual supply you will have to fit three way valves plus cold mains and hot combi pipework.

Thanks for the reply. Could you suggest an example of a 3 way valve. Post me a link perhaps.

Hi just_surfing
I'm not suggesting this is the only solution but use something like this.

You will need to incorporate non return valves in the system and I'd suggest mounting the hot and cold valves side by side so you can link the two levers together so you are never left with a mixed feed to you shower.
