Installing a towel radiator but need help with valves

by Wongatron » Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:50 pm

Hello all,

I am new to DIY.

I've decided to replace my bathroom radiator to a towel radiator and need some guidance. I've watched a few Youtube videos and done some reading so I think I know what needs to be done. What I am unsure about right now is which valves I should be using to connect to the existing system.

The house that I'm in is "new" ish (around 10 years) and the existing radiators uses what looks to be some sort of rubber/ plastic pipe. I've been looking on Amazon for the valves and it looks like most valves had connectors for copper pipes (which involve an olive).

Does anyone know the best way to connect the valves up to the existing system?

Thanks in advance for any advice/ tips!

Hi wongatron
It's probable that you have 15mm plastic pipe going into the existing valves. You can use valves with olives to fit on this pipe or use adaptors which have a push fit end.
