Leaking Soil Pipe

by dunaldo » Mon Sep 24, 2007 7:45 pm

Hi, I had a plumber remove my toilet while i tiled the bathroom floor. A week later he came to refit the toilet, and ever since then there has been a nasty odour, on closer inspection the toilet is leaking from the soil conection at the back of the toilet when i flush. I have tried repositioning the connection, but it doesnt seem to improve. I have tried calling the plumber back, but he has just ignored my calls. Is there anything i can do to solve this problem, and is there anything i could say to the plumber to encourage him to come and fix it.

Did he use a new pan connector ? or the old one ?

If he used a new one, then remove it, and apply washing up liquid to the rubber seals, and make sure the toilet pan engages fully into the connector. And the pan connector fits tightly into the soil pipe.

If he used the old one - then try a new pan connector, the seals may be worn.
