Supercove coving in place of gyproc coving

by serpico » Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:35 pm

Hi,
I am decorating a room and along one wall the gyproc coving has fallen down. Due to being unable to lift anything heavy I was wondering if I could put up lightweight coving in its place.

My question is, are the dimensions of lightweight supercove coving the same as gyproc coving with regard to the thickness of the top and bottom lip? If I use that along one wall, would it look the same as the rest of the room once painted?

Thanks

Hi serpico
Whether 'supercove' coving will match your gyproc coving will depend on the manufacturers. Suggest you cut a bit off the existing coving and take it to suppliers and see if it has the same dimensions.
You could always cut the existing coving into smaller sections and refit in bits.
Regards S
