All white goods have a "repair manual" without one for the appropriate appliance there is no way of knowing how any white goods appliance should be wired, since it is up to the manufacturer of said appliance how it should be wired.

I have to agree with @Mr White, I had a odd hot plate, most use a simmer stat, but the one I had used a series/parallel switch, so there is not way to be sure how wired without down loading the instructions from manufacturer.
