Shower mixer cartridge removal advice required

by c9mber » Fri Oct 23, 2020 10:03 pm

Hi

I would greatly appreciate advice in removing a mixer tap in my bathroom. I took it all to pieces the other day but spent so long trying to work out how to remove the mixer that I had to put it all back together again to have a wash/have a drink/wash hands! I assume all I need is a decent wrench to loose then top nut?

Here's a photo of what I'm working with - no YouTube tutorials were able to help me to unscrew/remove the mixer. Any ideas before I dismantle again and stop the shower from leaking?

Hi c9mber
Presumably you took the valve apart exposing the cartridge which has a hex head for removal. If you have a replacement cartridge you have a chance of success but only if you can undo the old cartridge without messing up the hot and cold feed pipe work.
