Is this crack in the mortar a serious concern?

by pallen » Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:41 pm

Hi, I'm looking for advice on a crack in the mortar of a house i'm in the process of buying.

There is a small crack running from the top-left of a window on the first floor of a 4-bed detached property (built 1995). It runs left for 1 brick, then up between 1 row of bricks, then along left for another brick (please see pic below).

Is this something I need to be concerned about and get a structural engineer out to investigate?

Thanks in advance.

Hi pallen
Not really any need to worry, the bricks were probably disturbed when the windows were replaced.
