I am about to have some new sash windows installed and need to install a sensor in each so we know if it's open (so the heating does not come on in the room).
The image attached shows the two sensors I have found, a surface mounted one (numbers 1&2, both are the same but 1 is pushed up so you can see the rim) and a flush one (numbers 3 & 4) that can also be recessed.
Where I would appreciate some advice is:
- - Where the holes are drilled, should they be treated with anything before installing the sensor?
- - If I use the surface mounted one, should I put anything over it to protect where the hole was drilled? or surround the sensor in something?
If I was to go for the flush one, would you suggest it is installed:
- - Flush like number 3 (should I put anything over it to protect where the hole was drilled?)
- - Recessed like number 4 with a filler (or something) over the top and painted?
Thank you for your help in advance.
