Re-pressurise boiler but no visble filling loop?

by Tee1234 » Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:36 pm

Hi,

The pressure on my boiler has gone below 1, and is at 0.5. I cannot locate the filling loop to re-pressurise. All videos have the blue isolation valves but of course mine doesn't.

Can anyone help?

I've attached some photos if that'll help. First time this has happened since moving in to the property. Maybe it's something I can do myself since all the videos show it's a case of opening and closing the blue valves (which I do not have).

I turned the right most black valves and nothing happened.

Hi tee1234
It looks like the two pipes with the black levers fitted are the filling loop connections. Have a look at the top of the right hand one and you should find a slotted valve head (like the left one). If turning this solves your problem I suggest you buy a proper filling loop with dual valves for easy operation in the future.

Appreciate the reply stoneyboy. That was indeed what I needed. They were a bit tight so I unscrewed the caps and used another tool to turn it. It’s easier to turn now. This boiler was already Installed when I moved in. I wonder why they didn’t install insulation valves.

Hi tee1234
Could be it saved buying a filling loop with IV’s but I think how it was installed contravenes water board regs. Suggest you fit a proper filling loop.
