Fused Spur Timer for Existing Panel Radiator

by DaiBach » Thu Nov 26, 2020 5:53 pm

Panel radiator with Fused switch next to it.
The current switch has ENL connections, each with 2 wires feeding in. There is also a much narrower gauge grey wire connector.

My new timer switch has SUPPLY E & N and LOAD E & N, together with 2 earth's (6 connectors).

How do I know which live and which neutral go into which hole and what is the grey wire all about? I assume it doesn't matter which of my 2 earths go into which E hole?

I'll add images shortly as soon as I've reduced file size.

Reading I wonder if this is an Economy 7 or similar set up? The grey wire may be a trigger wire to tell the heater when to switch on.
