Issues with Worcester Greenstar 8000 Life

by alisonkbutler » Wed Dec 16, 2020 5:18 pm

We have had this boiler for just under a year. I have noticed that it stops heating when it is supposed to be working and the internal temperature drops. It then alternates between some strange square symbol and the temperature and the radiator symbols flash. Currently the boiler says it is 35C when it should be heating the house so nothing is happening and the house is getting colder instead of warmer!

Since writing my original post I think I have worked out that the strange symbols imply that it is in syphon fill mode. This, apparently is only meant to happen if the boiler has been turned off, if it hasn't been used for a day or so, and if the control knob has been turned down and back up.

This is where I don’t understand as my boiler is used everyday at the moment for C/H and why does it do it during a scheduled time to be on?

An anyone help me?
